SUMMARY:M. Bernard Loates Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:Many artists have attempted to reproduce Audubon’s work\, but few have done so as well as M. Bernard Loates. Loates is a Canadian artist and printer who reproduced some of Audubon’s best-known Birds of America prints. Each print is signed\, numbered\, and corresponds with a bibliographic entry featuring some of M. Bernard Loates’ personal drawings of the birds proving him to be both a master printer and artist. This exhibit features the Sandhill Crane pictured below and 4 other birds.\n\n\n\nThis exhibit is FREE and can be viewed in the Lobby of the Museum. The exhibit will run until July so don’t miss out! The Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday 9 A.M. to 4 P.M.

DESCRIPTION:Native Reflections: Visual Art by American Indians Living in Kentucky \nSaturday\, May 3 to May 29\, 2025 \nReception May 5th\, 5:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. \nJohn James Audubon Museum  \nCost: Free \n  \nTeam Kentucky\, the Kentucky Arts Council\, the Kentucky Native American Heritage Commission and the Kentucky Heritage Council worked together to invite American Indians living in Kentucky to share their visual art. A panel of American Indians and experts on Native American heritage selected works to include and the result is this amazing collection! This traveling exhibit will be on display at the Audubon Museum throughout the month of May. Admission is FREE and is open daily for viewing during regular Museum hours of 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. A reception will be held on May 5th at 5:30 P.M. including a presentation by one of the featured artists\, Jannette Parent. The reception is a FREE public event. \n  \nQuestions? These slithering reptiles are one of the most misunderstood and maligned creatures out there\, but we guarantee that you will leave this program with a new appreciation for snakes. Meet our naturalists in the Audubon Museum for the Snakes Alive presentation on Saturday\, May 24 at 1 P.M. to learn more about these interesting animals. Multiple LIVE snakes will be shown during the program. Great for all ages to enjoy!
