Along the hike route\, our naturalist will be sharing some of nature’s “love stories.” How does a porcupine choose a mate? What would a Burrowing Owl do to woo his lady friend? Find out these and other unique mating rituals\, told in a family-friendly manner\, of course. Perhaps you’ll find a new way to say\, “Be Mine”. This collaboration between John James Audubon State Park and KY Fish & Wildlife’s ‘Kentucky WILD’ program\, will combine wildlife-watching adventures with Audubon’s art. Enjoy a 3.5-hour wildlife-watching adventure led by a Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife biologist and Kentucky State Parks staff. These van tours begin at John James Audubon State Park and will take you to Sloughs WMA\, where you will explore the area and search for birds. Explore the rich artistry and history of John James Audubon’s life and work through an Audubon Museum visit. Your admission is included. Choose from several educational presentations: Friday evening\, learn from the Museum Curator about the birds John James Audubon drew in Kentucky. Saturday morning/afternoon\, advance your birdwatching skills with a “Birding Basics” presentation and explore the woods on a guided birding hike. Saturday evening\, gain info about eagles in Kentucky from a Fish and Wildlife biologist and experience the park’s live bird of prey program. \nRegistration must be made in advance: $45 for Ky Wild members; $50 for non-members; minimum age to participate is 12. Van tours will take place Saturday at either 8 AM or 1:30 PM; Sunday Van tour is 8 AM. You’ll receive a full itinerary upon registration. \nSpaces are limited\, so don’t delay\, register today! Join our naturalist for an adventure as darkness approaches – a wetland TWILIGHT HIKE! This hike follows flat terrain (small gravel\, dirt path\, and boardwalk) covering 1.5-miles. Less strenuous than our park hills\, this ADA accessible site offers a completely different habitat to discover! \n  \nMeets in the Wetland parking lot on Wolf Hills Rd.\, just north of Audubon Park.
