DESCRIPTION:Monarch Migration Mysteries \nSaturday\, Sept. 5 \n8-11:30 A.M. \nJohn James Audubon State Park Museum \nCost: $5/person; discounts for FOA members and larger families \nThe Monarch Butterfly captures everyone’s attention! This nearly endangered species completes a two-way migration\, but there’s so much mystery surrounding it! Attend the Monarch Migration Mysteries program: You’ll learn the Monarch’s incredible story in an engaging presentation\, then caravan with us offsite to capture\, tag\, and release these beautiful creatures. Tags and butterfly nets are provided—we’ll show you what to do! Wear long pants and sturdy shoes. (Sloughs WMA tagging site is approx. 25 mins. from the park.) Program begins at the Audubon Museum. Cost: $5/person; discounts for FOA members and larger families; children under age 4 are free. Inclement weather may cancel the program. Join us on Sunday afternoon\, Sept. 6th for a brand-new event\, “Making Monarchs\,” a fun opportunity to get creative with us\, making Monarch Butterfly-related crafts! Kids and adults can participate. There will be several FREEBIE crafts\, some $5 crafts\, and one paint-along wearable project for $15. You pick and choose which ones to make! If you’re doubtful of your crafting skills\, don’t worry\, our staff will teach you step-by-step. The event will take place from 2-4 P.M. at the Audubon Museum.
