Description

This is a set of five original prints from the first Royal Octavo edition of John James Audubon’s Birds of America, including plate 160 Savannah Bunting, plate 237 Loggerhead Shrike, plate 315 Black-bellied Plover, plate 430 Gull-billed Tern or Marsh Tern, and plate 454 Dusky Albatross.

A private collector donated these prints to the Friends of Audubon. All proceeds benefit fundraising efforts for the Unmatched Art, Unmatched Nature matching grant campaign.

Plate 315 – Black-bellied Plover
Original first edition measuring 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches. Binding holes still evident. Slight cockling across paper. Discoloration.

Plate 430 – Gull-billed Tern or Marsh Tern
