Adopt-A-Museum Bench

About the Program

Support the Friends of Audubon and the John James Audubon Museum by adopting a museum bench!

Available for adoption are a limited-number of museum benches by Louisville artist and craftsman, Kevin Kraus. Mr. Kraus thoughtfully crafted each bench using Kentucky sourced maple and cherry wood materials. The benches provide a comfortable place for visitors to sit and enjoy the many original Audubon works on display in the museum. No two benches are alike!

Adopting a bench is a great way to memorialize or honor a loved one and make the perfect gift for any occasion—birthday, anniversary, new baby, retirement, graduation. Businesses and associations may also consider adopting a bench to show their support of the Friends of Audubon and John James Audubon State Park.

The cost to adopt is $750. This adoption fee includes a certificate of adoption, a small plaque on the bench with a personalized message or inscription, and recognition on the John James Audubon State Park’s Facebook page. Adoption fees are used to support the Audubon Museum’s art conservation fund.
