Nature Programs
WILD Wednesday Kids Summer Nature Series
Every Week at 2:00 p.m.
Explore the wonders of nature and science with our WILD Wednesday Kids Summer Nature Series! Science experiments, nature activities, animal encounters, hikes, games, crafts, and more. These one-hour programs geared for children 6-12 years old, will meet each Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the John James Audubon State Park Museum. Join our Park Naturalist for the summer fun, but don’t delay — each session will have a limit of 20 participants!
Fee includes program participation and activity supplies. Cost: $48 for all 8 programs, or $7 per individual session (Friends of Audubon members: $45 for 8 sessions or $6.50 per session). Registration deadline is Wednesday, one week prior to the session date. Program fees are non-refundable. No-shows will be considered donations to the park. The park reserves the right to cancel any session with insufficient registrations or for unforeseen emergency circumstances. If such events occur, registrants will be notified as soon as possible and a make-up session will be offered on another date or time (not necessarily a Wednesday).

Walk on the Wild Side Nature Programs
Fridays, once a month, at 10:00 a.m.
These 60-minute interactive programs will help little ones ages 3-5 experience the joy and wonder of nature through play, creativity, and exploration. Each month’s theme includes various activities involving storybooks, crafts, live animal visits, pretend play, games, nature walks, and more! Parents attend with their child.

Little Rembrandts Art, Ages 3-6

Bring those little artists for a fun-filled morning of art! Let’s get creative with lines, shapes, and colors. Students ages 3-6 along with an adult can register with art educator, Mrs. Kim. Art from the Heart, Ages 6-8

This class is geared for the serious young artist who loves to be creative and work in any medium. We will be using watercolor, oil & soft pastels, tempera, and more. Cost: $32 (Friends of Audubon members $30). Supplies are included in the fee. Pre-registration and masks are required, class size is limited. Studio Art, Ages 9-13

Studio Art is for advanced students ages 9-13 with previous art experience and an interest in learning more. Students will learn several techniques and work in watercolor, mixed media, acrylic, colored pencil, and pastel. Cost: $34 ($32 for Friends of Audubon members). Pre-registration required. Princess at the Castle
Wednesday, June 30th through Thursday, July 1st
Cost: $28 ($26 for Friends of Audubon members)
Students ages 6-8 will have a blast at the Princess at the Castle camp. They will start both days wearing a tiara and having non-stop fun doing princess-themed art projects, learning about reptiles, Fun with Bertha Bubbles, making chalk art, and learning about Lucy Audubon. There will not be a Princess Tea in this session, but students will still receive the royal treatment. Cost: $28 ($26 for Friends of Audubon members). Pre-registration required.
