This is a set of five original prints from the first Royal Octavo edition of John James Audubon’s Birds of America, including plate 63 Pewee Flycatcher, 164 Field Bunting, plate 185 Stanley Goldfinch, plate 349 Hudsonian Godwit, and plate 470 Black-throated Guillemot.
A private collector donated these prints to the Friends of Audubon. All proceeds benefit fundraising efforts for the Unmatched Art, Unmatched Nature matching grant campaign.

Original first edition measuring 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches. Binding holes still evident. Cockling across paper. Discoloration along right edge of paper. Accompanied by original text (pages 77-80).
Plate 185 – Stanley Goldfinch
Original first edition measuring 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches. Foxing. Binding holes still evident. Accompanied by original text (pages 137-138).
Plate 349 – Hudsonian Godwit
Original first edition measuring 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches. Binding holes still evident. Small area of discoloration on upper left edge. Tissue guard still attached.
