Description

This is a set of five original prints from the first Royal Octavo edition of John James Audubon’s Birds of America, including plate 190 Morton’s Finch, plate 291 Plumed Partridge, plate 308 Least Water Rail, plate 380 White-fronted Goose, and plate 451 Pomerine Jager.

A private collector donated these prints to the Friends of Audubon. All proceeds benefit fundraising efforts for the Unmatched Art, Unmatched Nature matching grant campaign.

Plate 308 – Least Water Rail
Original first edition measuring 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches. Binding holes still evident. Slight text offsetting visible.

Plate 380 – White-fronted Goose
Original first edition measuring 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches. Binding holes still evident. Slight discoloration. Accompanied by original text (pages 209-212).

Plate 451 – Pomerine Jager
