Description
This is a set of five original prints from the first Royal Octavo edition of John James Audubon’s Birds of America, including plate 150 American Pipit or Titlark, plate 154 Chestnut-collared Lark Bunting, plate 472 Large-billed Guillemot, plate 351 Red-breasted Snipe, and plate 451 Pomerine Jager.
A private collector donated these prints to the Friends of Audubon. All proceeds benefit fundraising efforts for the Unmatched Art, Unmatched Nature matching grant campaign.

Plate 154 – Chestnut-collared Lark Bunting
Original first edition measuring 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches. Binding holes still evident. Slight text offsetting visible. Accretion on left side of paper. Accompanied by original text (pages 53-54).
Plate 351 – Red-breasted Snipe
Original first edition measuring 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches. Binding holes still evident. Tissue guard still attached. Slight text offsetting visible.
Plate 451 – Pomerine Jager
Original first edition measuring 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches. Binding holes still evident. Slight crease on lower right side of paper.
Plate 472 – Large-billed Guillemot
